Going to see the flowers in Namaqualand
Margaret and I , together with two wonderful "Lavender Ladies" ( Margarets Mum and her sister Val) decided to go and see the flowers..... We travelled from Cape Town to Clanwilliam, where we stopped for lunch and saw an amazing flower show being held in a church. We stayed the night in a VERY rustic cottage called Traverlers Rest, to our suprise we realy enjoyed our stay and suprisingley the beds were very comfortable. The next morning we woke up and saw small pockets of beautiful flowes...we headed off towards Calvinia via Biedou Valley...stunningly beautiful, not only to see the flowers but also being surrounded by the most amazing mountains. We then took the very scarry journey to Wupperthal...thinking we would be able to fill up our petrol tank...sorry for us no petrol! We had to go back to Clanwilliam.
We then took the quickest route to Calvinia, where we stayed the night in one of the cleanest self cattering cottages we have ever seen...
The next morning we headed off to Nieuwoudtille....wow that was where we saw the most incredible flowers, quite spectacular!
Our next trip we will head off to Springbok and see some more of our most beautiful country.

New egg lights..
Margaret has created a new egg light by using the whole egg and cutting a whole in the bottom to fit either a tee light or an elecrical lamp fitting... the result is quite awsome! The elecrical option can also be used with a tee light in case if a power failure.
More progress on Cape Vulture
At last I have started to put colour to my drawing...progress is slow, but I am savouring every moment. My medium is a mixture of watercolour and watercolour crayons.

Cape Vulture found at the Crags
I have been lucky enough o be commissioned to do a painting of Hannsie's rare Cape Vulture! It was found on her property about 2 months ago! An unbelievable honor to study and paint/draw this rare fledgling.
Many thanks that I will be able to share on our blog what will hopefully be an interesting project, to Gerhard from Ceramic Matters, who helped design our treehouse blog.
